Days 14 & 15

The biggest thing that this whole challenge has taught me so far is that I'm truly terrible at sticking to schedules. :P  I do apologize again, I was busy, &c., &c...onward we go.
Day 14: A Song That No One Would Expect You To Love
Well, I'm not sure if no-one would expect me to love this song, but it's pretty far removed from my normal fare.  It's still one of my favorite non-Broadway songs...it was the end credits song in Eragon, and so I used to listen to it every day when I was a big fan of said movie.  I still love the song, but I appreciate it more now for the music/lyrics than for its relationship to a fandom--and it brings back lots of good memories.
Said song, btw, is "Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne. :P

Day 15: A Song That Describes You
I thought long and hard about this one, but I couldn't think of any song that really describes me.  So instead, I'll give you one of my favorite violin pieces--both to play and to listen to. :)

Wow, this is one of my favorite violin pieces!! I didn't know you played the violin! My sister plays the violin - she started about a year ago. Do you do the Suzuki series (as far as learning the violin goes)? (Hmmm, that sounded nosy.)

Miss Elliot,
Yep, I've been playing for...four years now? Yes, I think four years. I am doing the Suzuki series (and no, that wasn't nosy--I always ask people the same question, haha). I'm just starting Book 6--does your sister do it?
Do you like any other Vivaldi pieces?

Wow, four years!! My sister does Suzuki - she's in Book 2 right now. We share a blog, btw, and her nickname is Miss Bennet, just so you know! :-)
Yes, I love Vivaldi in general - I love the Lute Concerto in D Major, Spring from the Four Seasons (okay, that one is pretty popular...), Winter from the Four Seasons. And more...
There are some really good CDs we have that introduce young people to the different composers. They tell fiction stories that tell about the composers (example: in Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery, a young girl named Katerina comes to Vivaldi's girls' school, and we learn about him through her eyes) and all the music is music composed by that composer. There's a Beethoven one, a Bach one, and so on. They're a lot of fun!! And they're helpful: most of the Vivaldi pieces I love are ones I learned to love on that CD.
Wow, this comment is... long. Oh well. ;-)

Miss Elliot,
Haha, sometimes it still feels weird to know I've been playing--I still automatically think, "Oh, two years or so," when someone asks me how long I've been playing. :P
Ooh, that sounds very cool. Can you still get it anywhere?
I'm sorry to state that I don't know too many non-violin Vivaldi pieces, haha--but I like most of the ones you mentioned. :)
Oh, don't worry--like most bloggers, I adore long comments. Heehee.

Yes, they are on Amazon. We got ours a long time ago but they are still in 'print', haha. They are pretty new.
(By the way, every time I see your profile picture on the comment thingy I'm like "Oooh, Jane Bennet is talking to me!!" Heehee.)
