When I'm angry, I rarely listen to music, but when I do, it's generally something like, "Do You Hear the People Sing?" because Les Mis always cheers me up (strange as that sounds), and because belting out DYHTPS at the top of my lungs is a good way to get anger out of my system. :P

I'm not the only one! :D
Yes yes yes!!!!!!!!! I had never heard this version before. Now I see why you lovely bloggers like that Enjo so much :-)
Evie Brandon,
Wait, what you do mean by that? :) That Les Mis always cheers you up? If so, no, you're not the only one. Hahaha. ;)
Miss Elliot,
HAHAHAHA. Yes indeedy! Are you new to LM, or...? Because I can recommend some of my favorite versions, if you'd like. :)
Anyways...isn't Michael Maguire amazing?? He was my favorite Enjo for the longest time. ;) The Dream Cast is pretty epic all around, really. :D
Ummm, I'm kind of new! Most of my exposure to LM (well, besides the book- I read it about two years ago before I'd even heard of the singing ;-)) came from Miss Dashwood's blog. I read all of her epic LM the movie review several times, and so the movie is most of what I know. And I haven't even seen it!
Anyway, I would love to hear your favorites!!! The movie seems to have overshadowed the concerts (which I guess should be true - the movie is epic) but I would like to find out more about the concerts. I've heard a lot about them but haven't seen any of them. Wow, when I get started, I can really keep going!! Oops... :-)
Hahah sorry I should have been clear! I meant I sing DYHTPS too! XD
Miss Elliot,
Yayyyyy you've read the book? How awesome! I was introduced to the musical through Miss Dashwood's blog as well, which in turn introduced me to the brick. ;) Now I love it even more than the musical--I'm a shameless Brick Nerd. ;) (Oh, speaking of, have you ever seen any non-musical movie versions of LM?)
Anyways...recommendations. Obviously the 10th Anniversary Concert (TAC) is on the list. It's actually on Youtube in several places, but this is my favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAVrm3wjzq8.
The 25thAC. Well. It's a good performance, and definitely worth a listen--it's not one of my personal favorites, but you might like it better. I don't know. ;)
And then of course there's the movie (which I absolutely love), oh, and if you want the Complete LM Experience, you should listen to the Complete Symphonic Recording (CSR) on Youtube--it's the recording that first introduced me to LM, and it has every single line in there, so it's valuable if you're trying to figure out the plot/how it differs from the book.
Anyway. Whoooops...it seems that we share a penchant for talking about Les Mis. :P This is not a bad thing. ;) Sorry if I sound boring/pretentious at all--I don't mean it that way. :)
Evie Brandon,
Haha, thanks for clearing that up! =) What version of DYHTPS is your favorite?
Haha, don't feel bad at all! I will definitely try to check those out (maybe before school starts!;-))
What exactly is the brick? Is it the script of the whole thing? I've heard it mentioned and I still haven't figured out what it is.
Miss Elliot,
If you do end up listening/watching any of them, I'd love to hear your thoughts--perhaps a blog review? ;)
Oh, sorry! The "brick" is just a term for the book, haha.
Oh, thank you so much for telling me! I feel rather silly and ignorant, like other girls (well, Lizzy has something more of sense than her sisters). ;-)
Miss Elliot,
Snorrrrt, it took me FOREVER to figure out what people were talking about with bricks...I assume it's because the book is so long? ;)
And yay for JA references! But she is not so handsome as Jane, nor as good-humored as Lydia.
Oh, you take delight in vexing me!!
;-)
